'Call me Dave' is certainly fond of things that make him appear to be doing things about things that he says need something doing about them.
Even if those things haven't actually happened.

This is nothing but the government attempting to be seen to be "doing something" about a problem of it's own creation.
If it's ever brought in, you can rest assured that it won't be used for what the majority of the electorate expected it to be used for.

They might bring back the offence of treason in some shape or form but anyone thinking this will also bring back executions at Gallows Corner is out of their box.

"So you think using the radio for propaganda is cause for treason?"
Yes, especially when we are at war with the country who the person is issuing propaganda for.
"The crime of treason is a way for the government to get rid of people that oppose the state and cant shut them up by any other means... "
It is also a way of letting people know of similar ilk that this wont be tolerated
Perhaps an anarchical system would be more to your taste, Maniac old boy?
Let everyone do what they want

Attack the argument not the person dear boy...
So you think using the radio for propaganda is cause for treason?
Even when a person denounces his citizenship and fucks off from this country and wants nothing more to do with it..you still want them hung for treason ?
The crime of treason is a way for the government to get rid of people that oppose the state and cant shut them up by any other means...

Arson in the Royal dockyards was a treasonable offence up until very recently

I can see this thread about to spiral uncontrollably off topic.
Some how I don't think they'll bring the death penalty back to go with it.

So we should just have let Haw Haw off with a slap on the wrist then?
Just another manifestation of veggie thinking here?

Did we create Hitler?...Yes, sort of. We created an impoverished post WW1 environment for the German people.
"The treaty forced Germany to disarm, make substantial territorial concessions, and pay reparations to certain countries that had formed the Entente powers. In 1921 the total cost of these reparations was assessed at 132 billion Marks. ( £284 billion in 2014)
I pretty much reckon that we caused enough suffering to the people of Germany that they would listen to a mad man and give him the mandate to be a cunt...
As for HawHaw. Born in America, lived in Ireland, denounced his British Nationality and became a German citizen in 1940...
I would say that treason was probably the wrong crime to get him on but people did what the fuck they liked back then .
His broadcasts were not even illegal and the only evidence against him for high treason was that he held a British Passport when he first made his broadcast.
Some might say that the Voice of German propaganda was silenced to appease the masses..not for and treasonous reasons.
But that is what happens when you allow the government to kill its own people,,,

This bit of dirt? Don't you mean...
This royal throne of kings, this sceptred isle, This earth of majesty, this seat of Mars, This other Eden, demi-paradise, This fortress built by Nature for herself Against infection and the hand of war, This happy breed of men, this little world, This precious stone set in the silver sea, Which serves it in the office of a wall, Or as a moat defensive to a house, Against the envy of less happier lands, This blessed plot, this earth, this realm this England....

What enemy do you personally need defending from?
None other than the ones your state has created.
